Manchester city centre is set to come alive once again with Italy’s vibrant sights, sounds, and flavours as the ever-popular Festa Italiana returns for its seventh edition. Taking place at Cathedral Gardens over the August Bank Holiday weekend, this beloved event promises a feast for all the senses, drawing locals and visitors alike into the heart of Italian culture.
One of the festival’s highlights will be the array of culinary delights on offer, and this year, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be a part again of this grand celebration, bringing with us a selection of freshly made pasta dishes to tempt your taste buds.
From classic favourites like Carbonara, Pesto & Burrata to more niche recipes such as Nonna Marce’s special sauce, our menu is sure to please. And for those seeking plant-based options, we’ll serve up our much-loved Mushroom & Truffle sauce, among other vegan delights. But we don’t want to give away all our secrets just yet—come and discover our full offering from Friday at 12 pm at Cathedral Gardens.
For those who can’t attend the festival, there’s no need to worry—our beloved restaurant will remain open throughout the weekend, offering you a double opportunity to enjoy our Italian cuisine.

In that case, The Pasta Factory’s Pasta Masterclass is the perfect opportunity for you. With new dates just announced, you can immerse yourself in the art of fresh pasta in an authentic and welcoming environment.
What to Expect
During this unique culinary experience, you’ll have the chance to work with expert pasta makers who will share their extensive knowledge of traditional fresh pasta making. Throughout the masterclass, you’ll learn:
– Dough Techniques: From mixing ingredients to achieving the perfect consistency, learn how to prepare the ideal dough for various pasta types, from tagliatelle to orecchiette,to ravioli.
– Handcrafting: Discover the secrets to shaping and forming pasta by hand, achieving perfect and consistent shapes.
– Cutting and Shaping: From tagliatelle to farfalle, learn to create various pasta shapes and cuts using traditional tools.

We haven’t forgotten to include and serve to you a freshly made Pasta dish.

‘The Importance of Mothers’

My grandma Anna says she had the joy of motherhood twice, with her daughter and then with me, her granddaughter. That is why I’m dedicating this menu to her and those like her that show unconditional love to their children, whatever that looks for them. Nonna Anna was born in Poggio Nativo, a small town in the province of Rieti – Lazio. That’s where I grew up too, lucky to have history, mountains and the smell of fresh baked bread everyday. Like most children I hated eating vegetables and so, grandma, had to come up with a recipe that I would fall in love with. Grandmas are superheroes, and like a true superhero I couldn’t stop eating her simple soup made with onions and eggs from her garden. She used to tell me: ‘today, Ramona, fantasy of Marinella’. Marinella was the hen she used to keep in the garden and where we would get fresh eggs from. This soup has now evolved to a filling for a starter we now have on our menu at pasta factory. It still holds on to traditions and it will always remind me of home and childhood. To all mothers, grandmothers and mothers to be – thank you. *Our current menu will be available as well so you can mix Special Mother’s Day dishes and normal menu dishes as you wish.
